At INNOVATIVE BILINGUAL NURSERY AND PRIMARY SCHOOL, we prioritize excellent attendance as crucial for student success and overall development. Below is our attendance policy and guidelines:
We expect all our students to aim for 100% attendance. Regular attendance is essential for academic progress and personal development. Any attendance level below 95% triggers interventions to improve attendance, including mentoring, parental meetings, or student contracts.
If a student's attendance falls to 80%, it equates to missing a whole day of school every week. Consistent low attendance from Year 7 to Year 11 can result in missing an entire year of schooling.
Good attendance is classified as 95% or above. Students with less than 91% attendance are likely to achieve 1 grade lower in their exams compared to those with attendance above 98%. Only 3% of pupils with less than 50% attendance achieve satisfactory grades, while 73% of pupils with over 95% attendance achieve excellent academic performance.
Pupils who miss school frequently can fall behind with their work and may achieve less in exams. Good attendance also demonstrates reliability to potential employers.
EVERY DAY COUNTS. Attendance matters!
If your child is ill, please decide if they are too unwell to attend school. Contact us before 8:30 am on each day of absence at +237 671614716. On their return, provide a letter explaining the illness. School may request evidence of illness, and decisions regarding absence authorization rest with the school.
Persistent unauthorised absences prompt school contact via letters, calls, and home visits. We collaborate on strategies for improvement; however, non-improving cases may lead to penalty notices.
For support in encouraging attendance, contact an Administator at +237 671614716 or attendance@innosdouala.com we can arrange meetings at school, home, or a neutral venue.
We have clear attendance policies in place to ensure students attend classes regularly and punctually. These policies outline expectations for both students and parents regarding attendance records and notification procedures for absences.
Our school uses an electronic attendance monitoring system to track student attendance accurately. Teachers and administrative staff regularly review attendance records to identify trends and address any concerns promptly.
Parents receive attendance reports periodically to keep them informed about their child's attendance record. These reports highlight attendance percentages, absences, tardiness, and any actions taken to improve attendance.
We provide support and guidance to students who face challenges with attendance. This includes counseling services, parent-teacher meetings, and personalized strategies to encourage regular attendance and address underlying issues.
Regular attendance plays a crucial role in students' academic success, social development, and overall well-being. It ensures continuity in learning, promotes classroom engagement, and prepares students for future responsibilities.
